Privacy policy

Last updated 25 October 2026

We respect your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information, including credit information, under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles and the Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code.

Dosh Financial Services Pty Ltd (ACN 123 725 066) is Authorised Corporate Credit Representative No 403132 of Dosh Finance Pty Ltd (ACN 147 674 351, ABN 51 147 674 351), Australian Credit Licence Number 395920. In this policy “we”, “us” and “our” mean Dosh Financial Services and, where relevant, our licensee Dosh Finance Pty Ltd.

What we collect

  • Identity and contact details: name, date of birth, address, phone, email, driver licence and other identification.
  • Financial and application details: employment, income, expenses, assets and liabilities, dependants, residential history, business details (ABN, time trading, financial statements, BAS and tax information) and details of the asset or loan you want.
  • Credit information: existing credit, repayment history, defaults and credit reports.
  • Website and portal information: pages viewed, the site that referred you, approximate location from your IP address, device type, what you type into our enquiry form or chat assistant, and your activity in our client portal.

We only collect sensitive information (for example health information relevant to a hardship request) with your consent or where the law allows.

How we collect it

Mostly directly from you: when you send an enquiry, chat with our assistant, speak with us, apply for finance or use the client portal. We may also collect it from lenders, credit reporting bodies, your accountant or other advisers, introducers who referred you, public registers (such as ABN, ASIC and PPSR searches) and people you authorise to act for you.

Why we collect it

  • to assess your needs and find, apply for and arrange suitable finance;
  • to verify your identity and meet our legal obligations, including responsible lending and anti-money laundering laws;
  • to manage your loans after settlement, including the client portal, statements, payout and refinance requests;
  • to receive and pay commissions, run our business, keep records and train staff;
  • to improve our website and services; and
  • to tell you about other finance that may suit you (you can opt out any time).

If you don’t give us the information we ask for, we may not be able to help you. You can make a general enquiry without identifying yourself, but we’ll need your details to arrange finance.

Who we share it with

  • lenders, funders, insurers and other providers we approach for you;
  • our licensee Dosh Finance Pty Ltd, our staff and contractors;
  • credit reporting bodies (such as Equifax, illion and Experian), usually through the lender as part of your application;
  • valuers, settlement agents, accountants, lawyers and people you authorise;
  • introducers or referral partners who referred you to us, so they know the outcome;
  • service providers who help us run our business, such as our CRM, email, document, website hosting and AI providers; and
  • government bodies and regulators where the law requires it.

Information held or processed overseas

Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia. Our CRM data is hosted in Australia, but our website, client portal and AI chat assistant use providers that may process information in other countries, including the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Our website, chat assistant and client portal

  • We measure how our website is used without advertising cookies. We store a random visitor ID in your browser so we can count visits and, if you send an enquiry, link your visit to it so we can follow up.
  • Our chat assistant “Ash” is an AI. What you type is sent to our AI provider to generate a reply and may be saved with your enquiry. Please don’t enter bank details, passwords or tax file numbers into the chat.
  • If we run advertising, Google and Meta may set cookies or use similar technology to measure ads. You can manage this in your browser and in your Google and Facebook ad settings.
  • The client portal uses a one-time code sent to your email and a secure session. We log sign-ins and requests to protect your account.

Keeping it secure

We store information in secure systems with access controls, encryption in transit, one-time sign-in codes and activity logs, and we keep paper records secure. We keep records for as long as the law requires (generally at least seven years for credit assistance) and then destroy or de-identify them.

Direct marketing

We may contact you about finance that may suit you, such as when a loan is close to its end or a balloon is due. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us. We don’t sell your information.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask for access to, or correction of, the information we hold about you by contacting us. We’ll respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity, and in limited cases the law lets us refuse access; if so we’ll tell you why. There’s no charge to make a request.
